William B. Baker, Angelica Rios, Caira White, and Sadre'Ana Griddine are currently the Officers of the Young Professionals Achievement Council (YPAC). They all bring very strong leadership and management skills that has given them the tools and experience needed to lead young adults between the ages of 21 - 35 in the Greater Southwest Black Chamber of Commerce.

Dedicated to providing career-minded individuals with networking opportunities to develop socially, professionally and civically.

We are very proud to be a part of the Greater Southwest Black Chamber of Commerce. Our Young Professionals Achievement Council (YPAC) range from ages 18 - 35. We provide a variety of networking and professional development events bi-monthly. Our events are held at different locations throughout the surrounding communities. For Corporate Sponsors interested in our program, YPAC offers your employees leadership opportunities, professional development, networking, and community involvement. What are your employees doing after work?

NEXT GENERATION

Committees and Committee Chairs

The YPAC committees and their chair members are the backbone of the organization. These heavily involved members dedicate their time to bring all of YPAC’s events to life. The goal of each committee is to organize events and participate in community outreach that will appeal to a wide range of interests both within and outside our current membership. For a complete list of committees, see below. 

While committee involvement is limited to members only, prospective members are encouraged to attend a meeting for more information.

If you are looking to build your leadership skills, starting out as a member of a YPAC committee is a vital first step.


COMMITTEE LEADERS
If you’re interested in becoming more involved in YPAC and you want to take the lead in helping to continue to develop YPAC to its fullest potential, you may be a great candidate for a committee chair position.

Membership Recruitment Committee

The Membership Recruitment Committee is specifically responsible for recruiting new members at non-member YPAC events, attending other events throughout the DFW Metroples with the YPAC target demographic to entice new membership and communications strategies to the YPAC sending lists that are non-members. Their main goal is to help YPAC reach its membership goals year over year.

Membership Experience Committee

The Membership Experience Committee is responsible for the retention of current members with an emphasis on member engagement and renewing of annual memberships. They are responsible for engaging with members at Members Only events, understanding what engages our current members and making suggestions on how to improve our programming to provide all current members an impactful and positive experience within the organization.

Social Committee

The Social Events Committee is responsible for the planning and hosting of happy hours and non-professional development special events on the YPAC calendar.

Public Relations Committee

Help spread the word about YPAC! Whether it’s a press release, a radio spot, or even snapping photos at events, the Public Relations Committee is dedicated to promoting YPAC through all mass media outlets. This committee is also responsible for sending YPAC’s weekly e-blasts, which include information on all our upcoming events, as well as events going on in and around DFW Metroplex.

Business Development Committee

Business development training can help you become the business leader you want to be. Good training in business gives you the tools and skills to analyse your challenges and then find strategic solutions – in your current job or in your business.

Professional Development Committee

The Professional Development Committee helps YPAC members connect with the local business community and further develop professional skill sets needed for their future. The committee plans a variety of events including Speed Networking, Professional and Personal Development Workshops, Speaker Series and Career Connections.
